Absolutely incorrect. I went using the healthcare heroes discount as I am a RN, blogging is just a side hobby. The discount which I wrote about: https://www.travelcodex.com/save-up-to-75-on-a-serengeti-safari/ I Paid 100% out of my own pocket. But nice try. You really shouldn’t assume so much.

Rocky I understand your position and the need to be optimistic / positive since more than likely your host comp’d your safari, I get it. I remember one safari with Wilderness there was a NYT travel writer in camp, his review months later was ” interesting” to read. Travel safe.

This was my 2nd safari in 11 months. As the first one was in Zimbabwe and this one was the Serengeti. Both times I arrived without traveling via South Africa. There are several options to get to Tanzania without traveling via SA. Dar Es Salam is currently served by Emirates, Qatar, KLM, Ethiopian, Turkish, Oman Air and more. Furthermore other airports such as ZNZ and JRO are open and have international flights.

As far as medications and vaccinations, this is variable by country and one should consult their doctor. But the same is true if you’re traveling to SE Asia, or South and central America, or anywhere near the equator for that matter.

Yes I did mention SA because that is where you enter/exit unless of course you take UA or Ethiopian Airlines. Again “Abundance of caution ” is the phase today rather than “selling” was this your first safari? Even in good times one has to bring with them caution thats why so many vaccinations are required along with backup meds.

As someone who just returned I would respectfully disagree. I felt safe and secure at all times. Now is a great time to visit and costs are lower then ever. You keep mentioning South Africa in your comments, but these reviews are from the Serengeti in Tanzania.

We have cancelled our latest safari out of an abundance of caution and urge other to do so as well.
