The only option now for Ambassador renewal is $200. It does give you a 15K IHG points bonus (worth ~$75) and 10% rebate on award redemption. This 10% is additional to the 10% you receive from the old IHG credit card. So you could save 40% on a 4 night stay with both IHG credit cards and Ambassador membership (25K/nt x 4 nights=100K-25K (4th nt free from new IHG Credit card), 75K net cost. 20% rebate off of 75K, bottom point cost 60K pts

Finally, purchasing Ambassador status from InterContinental Hotels will come with automatic IHG Rewards Club Gold Elite status. – This is INCORRECT . It comes with AUTOMATIC PLATINUM STATUS from 1 MARCH 2019 . It changed recently so maybe you overlooked it.

In reply to Ric Garrido. I said you should "never" pay more than those rates because it was always possible to buy the necessary points at 0.7 cents and redeem them immediately. You admit it is not always possible to buy points at 0.5 cents. If I created a table based on that lower price, it would be inaccurate for most of the year.

The table based on buying points at $7.00 per 1,000 seems inadequate since there are many opportunities during the year to buy points for $5.00 per 1,000 points during IHG buy points with 100% bonus points promotions.
