From my experience, Premium (should be written very small) Economy (should be written in bold letters and be underlined two times) from Lufthansa is worthwhile for people who like to pay more (how much ever) for more leg room (and an amenity kit) – that’s it. You are the same “number” like an Eco-Passenger, get the same (sometimes terrible) food – which sounds (on the printed menu) like if somebody just tried to empty the fridge before leaving for a longer holiday (all Italian food lovers, please stop reading here: fusilli with deli-spread-sauce and Arrabbiata). I paid between 1.100 and 1.200 Euro for each return (in the cheapest booking class – saver), means there is in my eyes no value for menu comparing to “normal” economy. And I do understand why it’s said that Lufthansa has problems if selling that class – although it was always full, which underlines that many people just got an (cheap) upgrade. And the price diffence to the “business saver” is not more than between Premium Economy and Economy. To sunmerize: No Premium Economy (with Lufthansa) anymore. Ok, with one exception: I have to flight back in three weeks.

I’m confused by your question. Row 24 is the bulkhead row for Premium Economy. You will have extra legroom compared to the other rows in Premium Economy. Row 29 is the first row of regular economy seats, not Premium Economy. There is a huge amount of legroom here as there is no bulkhead wall in front of you separating you from the Premium Economy seat in front but you will be in an economy class seat with economy class service. Hope this help.

I am doing the France to Dubai trip in March. So I am going back and forth on the researching. I am 5’10
What is the difference between rows 24 and 29? I know 29 offer wider seat and legroom, but I was told 24 also offer legroom as well. But I am looking at picture posted by James for row 24, I do not see leg room and its a wall there.

They use the A330-300 however for this route so i dont know whether there would be much of a difference between the 2 seats. Id much prefer to have a tiny bit less leg space than someone crush me whilst trying to eat.

Thanks for posting the review I will be flying on the 747-400 and have an option between seat 24D and 26C. 24 is appealing because no one reclines into me – and there is the leg rest – but I am concerned about the legroom. Is it restricted as they say on seat guru? I’m 5ft 10in. Also, is the leg rest comfortable?
For Row 26, I have read reviews that once the person in front of you reclines it can get pretty cramped. Which seat would you advise me to select. I have searched for a response for a long time and can’t get any. Thanks in advance.
Here is the seat map: https://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Lufthansa/Lufthansa_Boeing_747_400_V4.php

The only premium Y product I’ve tried is BA’s World Traveller Plus. Food was hit-and-miss; one meal was an excellent dish from the Club World menu, the other an awful one plucked from regular World Traveller. Drink selection was good. The seat looks about the same as LH, though the service was uninspired. IIRC, WTP did come with priority check-in and boarding, but no lounge access. The extra room was worth it for the long flight from DEL-LHR, but similarly, I probably wouldn’t pay the upcharge for any flight < 6 hours.

J/K. I’m not sure. Maybe they were oversold in Y and Star Gold status?

How did you score free upgrade?
