You’ll need to exit the terminal, walk to TBIT, and re-clear security. More information is available here: https://www.flylax.com/inter-terminal-connections

It’s not a long walk, maybe 10 minutes. The bigger issue will be how busy the security line is.

Will I need to go through a second TSA security check at TBIT? My flights were booked via Collette Travel . How long will it take me to get to TBIT, and to my gate for my flight to Amsterdam?

According to US regulations (and most international carriers), you must wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth. Face shields are an optional addition but not a replacement for a mask.

If you aren’t leaving the transit area of the airport, you don’t need a visa for your return journey.

There’s a button that says “choose file.” Use this to browse your computer and select the image.

You should be able to log into the CBP system that you used to apply and it will show you your status. However, a processing backlog could mean that your application is still marked as “pending” without any additional detail.

Most hotel programs transfer to Alaska Airlines. You can look up options using the Points Transfer Calculator: https://www.travelcodex.com/points-transfer-calculator/

I think you should. Both are Star Alliance lounges and you’re on Star Alliance flights, so you should usually be able to use either lounge. However, some lounges do have restrictions.

I am assuming that you have Star Alliance Gold status or are a business class passenger and would normally have lounge access; you’re just asking if you can use the lounge operated by a different carrier.

I recommend that you check out the Star Alliance lounge finder tool for exact rules:
https://www.staralliance.com/en/lounge-finder

I also recommend you take a look at the LoungeBuddy app, which includes information on both Star Alliance and other lounges:

It’s probably not worth it if you live in Toronto since Alaska doesn’t operate any flights there, so you wouldn’t be able to enjoy the benefits of status.

However, if you wanted to requalify I would recommend flight to one of the nearby cities that Alaska does serve and then find a cheap flight to the west coast and back. New routes and competitive routes tend to have the lowest prices. For example, if there’s new service from Seattle to Pittsburgh (there’s not; it’s a few months old at this point) or competitive service from SFO to New York (lots of airlines serve that route) then those are the ones I would explore first.

Is it worth it and what is the lease expensive way to meet the 798miles? Thanks
