Please look into it as one-way bookings are allowed with SQ miles with those airlines. I have used SQ miles for both SAS and TAP for one-way bookings before;

I should update how the results are displayed. Technically, a standard award is only for travel on Cathay Pacific. I assume you are flying on a partner. Those awards tend to cost 5,000 miles more.

But when i search in Asia miles website, it shows 15000 miles. What’s the mistake i am doing?

For British Airways, award prices are calculated per segment. If you make a connection, you will have to calculate and pay for each segment separately. Since the Award Maximizer has no way of knowing what itinerary you will take, it assumes you are traveling non-stop. This is mentioned in the comments under the results for BA.

IST-BOM non-stop is 2,995 miles flown, which is just under the 3,000-mile threshold for Zone 4 (2,001 to 3,000 miles flown). This is why you see a price of 13,000 Avios on the Award Maximizer.

However, you said that searching on BA’s website you only found award space on Qatar. I assume you are connecting in Doha. That means you are paying for IST-DOH and DOH-BOM. Each of those flights is a Zone 3 award because they are between 1,151 and 2,000 miles flown. The cost for a Zone 3 award is 11,000 Avios. You have two of them, so 2 x 11,000 = 22,000 Avios for the entire journey.

Is it because the flight is only available with Qatar Airlines?

One suggestion: You might add the alliance each airline is part of (If any) after the name of the airline in the displayed results.

(1) If you’re not able to get Greensboro to appear in the ANA online search, then you’ll have to book by phone and may need to pay a fee. Similar issues happen with every airline. I know that Alaska Airlines doesn’t display award space for Cathay Pacific, so I have to call. I’ve heard pretty bad things about Avianca’s phone service, so I only book awards that I can find online.

(2) You can’t use the United website to book a ticket with ANA miles. You may be able to search for award space on the United website and then you could call ANA to book it once you know it is available

Greensboro (GSO)->Chicago->Narita (NRY) ->Bangkok (BKK) , Round Trip

I want to use the ANA award miles for my trip ; I don’t have any miles from United airline.
ANA’s awarded travel from US to Japan are from big airports (O’hare, IAD etc) but not from small airports like Greensboro which is my closet hometown airport. So I have to find a ticket from Greensboro to the big airport.
-When I search for Award Reservation on ANA, Greensboro did not show up on the departure airport.
-When I book the ticket via United from Greensboro to Bangkok, there is a question “Do you want to book a MileagePlus® award ticket?” I answer “No” since I don’t have their mileagePlus. How can I reserve the ticket from United using ANA miles?

If I buy a separate ticket via United from Greensboro to O’hare, and pay a ticket from O’hare to Bangkok via ANA using my ANA mileage, I will have to pay for the checked bags and I have to leave the airport and check in again (from Greensboro to O’hare). Not to good at all.

I hope you understand my situation. What should I do?
I think I may have to start accumulate the miles from United.

Thank you.
