In reply to Jacquelyn Barisano. Norwegian Premium passengers can use the No. 1 lounge in Gatwick, and The Club lounge in Boston. As far as seat numbers, some of the 787 configurations, specifically the 787-8 and one configuration of the 787-9 ("Layout 1" in SeatGuru) have missing windows in the last row of Premium. "Layout 3" of the 787-9 has an exit row (Row 7) with extra legroom, though the tray table and TV are in the armrest. Besides those, there's really not a meaningful difference between seats.

Any particular seat numbers to choose/avoid in premium? Did Norwegian have a lounge at Gatwick and Boston?

Great review! quick question – was your hand luggage weighed and if so was it at check-in or boarding? Lastly,c an you confirm if check-in for economy is an automated kiosk in which you print your luggage tags, take it to the drop where it is weighed and put on a conveyor belt. Thanks again!

Thanks for the excellent review, just booked the Premium Class for a december trip to New York flying from Gatwick and agree it pays to shop around on websites, booking direct on their site rather than through the site the search engine took me too saved me £95. Hopefully our experience will be a good one, but for the price we paid i cant complain with lounge access, free drinks, decent recline on seat and the cudos of turning left on boarding.

This is by far the most useful comprehensive and recent review I’ve found of Norwegian Premium transatlantic service on the 787 and has reassured me on a number of points ahead of flying from Gatwick to Las Vegas on Monday. Thanks.

In reply to TDHIll. Thank you for the kind words! One thing to keep in mind is, I don't know how comfortable these seats would be for sleeping on an eastbound redeye. It'll be better than coach, but the old "cradle" business class seats used to leave me with sore thighs on a long flight. That being said, it's probably still worth the small premium over coach.

Terrific review! I didn’t even realize that LCC had another class. I love reminding fellow travelers on the we’re-all-in-this-together Spirit flights that we are ALL in first class. harhar. I think that’s definitely be worth the extra money on the red-eye heading east across the pond! Thanks for the detailed report where I felt like I was right there. Your pics are great too!

In reply to dan luttrell. Honestly, I don't object to being asked politely about switching seats. Depending on the circumstances, I might even oblige. What p*sses me off is when someone tries to pull a fast one, then makes it sound like you're in the wrong and taking the seat that isn't even theirs.

In reply to Mike. It falls in between. You can order any beer/liquor/wine/mixed drinks on the menu immediately after take-off and with the main meal. The after-meal drink, however, is limited to cognac or Bailey's, and I don't believe drinks were available outside of meal time. But I didn't ask for one, so I'm not completely sure.
