That only applies to Silver/Gold/Platinum. Clear provides no significant advantage over TSA precheck, but it costs a lot more. If I wasn’t a 1k member I’d cancel it after earning the 15,000 miles. TSA precheck is $85 for 4 years and Global Entry (with TSA Precheck) is $100 for 5 years. Compared with Clear at $109, per year, it makes absolutely no sense to sign up and keep Clear, except for the United mileage bonus.
